You'll reach your assistant two ways — by text, like a person, and by sitting inside Claude Code to build. Same mind, same files, two different jobs. Here is which to use when, and the one habit that means you never lose your work.
Your work does not disappear when you close a window. The work is the files — the pages, the documents, the tools you make — and they sit safely on the computer. The one thing that makes them truly impossible to lose is sending a copy to the cloud, which your assistant calls pushing. Do that and a copy lives somewhere a dropped laptop or a closed app can never touch.
The chat you had while building is not the valuable part. The files are. There is one small habit that saves them every time, and it's at the bottom of this page.
You're working with the same intelligence through two different doors. This is the part that throws almost everyone, so here it is plainly.
It lives on your phone like a contact. You message it the way you'd message a person. It's always awake, it remembers you from one day to the next, it can do things on a schedule, and it can see across all your projects at once.
The same intelligence — but you sit down with it, inside one project, to build. It's a focused workspace where the real making happens and you can watch the work take shape in front of you.
They are not two separate assistants you have to keep in sync by hand. It's one mind, one computer, one set of files. Two doors into the same workshop — you just pick the door that fits what you're doing.
The simplest way to hold it: one is the foreman who remembers everything, one is the workbench where you build.
Because they share the same files, your assistant can read everything Claude Code builds, any time — it simply walks over and looks. You don't have to forward anything or repeat yourself.
There's one thing it can't see on its own: the conversation you had inside Claude Code. Only what gets written down into a file carries across. So the whole bridge between the two is this — whatever matters has to end up in a file, not just said out loud in a chat.
If you remember nothing else on this page, remember this.
When you finish a building session in Claude Code, say one word:
(or "save everything and push")
That one word tells it to do three things at once:
That single habit does double duty: it makes your work impossible to lose, and it catches your texting assistant all the way up — so the next time you message it, it already knows exactly where you left off.
Build at the bench. Remember with the assistant. Save when you're done.
That's the entire system.
Still fuzzy on a piece of it? Text your assistant and ask. Explaining its own setup in plain words is one of the things it's genuinely good at — there's no question here too basic.
